How many questions did you answer correctly?

Perhaps you got some right, but more than likely you did not get every question correct. However, none of the questions were extremely complicated. They were based purely on the facts stated and clearly implied in the passages you read.

The questions you just answered could easily be on a quiz in your 11th grade English class; therefore, you need an effective way of reading and remembering material so you can do well in class! This is where summaries come into play. Summaries are brief descriptions of a movie, book, poem, or any other text. Summaries can also be short descriptions of a small part of a text.

Unless you have a memory that can retain small details from large chunks of text, typical fact-based literature quizzes can be a challenge when you have reading to do for multiple subjects. Therefore, you need a study skill such as summaries to help you work wonders with words and do your very best.

By creating summaries, you can identify the important points in a passage and have a helpful study reference. This is an especially helpful strategy when it comes to studying for quizzes in your 11th grade English class.
